What are you having for dinner tonight? One thing I really don't like is having to try and come up with something new as an idea for dinner so wondered if you could give me some ideas. My husband has offered to roast a chicken and I believe we will be having roast chicken with rice and vegies. Looking for some interesting ideas for tomorrow night.
Might have a lentil shepherd's pie tonight, got a great recipe from Riverford organic fruit and veg website that's got red onion, carrot, parsnip, green lentils, celery, mushrooms, tomato and rosemary in it, topped with a lovely mash and a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese on top - lovely, will have that with some broccoli florets and a little HP sauce as it goes really well with it too. Might not have room for anything else as a dessert as the pie's quite filling but not heavy/stodgy; maybe have some tinned apricots in fruit juice and/or raspberry yoghurt later.
I am enjoying pushing the boundary on our usual evening meals. I bought lentils for the first time and have been searching for recipes such as lasagne, casseroles and salads. I have mad a lebanese dish called Mujallah (i think!) which is Rice, Lentils and caramalised onions. Its in the fridge and i was going to either reheat tonight or make some patties (might need an egg to bind). Hopefully they'll be served with some veg and a mild curry sauce, it'll either be tasty or straight to the bin! like most of my experiments.
I am getting hungry afte reading about the delicious sounding Mujallah and that slow cooking good smelling spag bol! have no particular plans for tonight, possibly just have veg sausage with salad and pittas, as the cupboards are a little bare right now as i need to do a big shop and have put it off for the last few days...or maybe have pasta...sorry not very inspiring suggestions i know..if i had my store cupboards full, i think i might fancy cou cous ,hummous and salad with roast chicken and a nice glass of wine, and a scrummy dessert.
Im making spag bol in slow cooker, its been on all day an my house smells great lol I want to eat it now! I love spag bol with garlic bread. then tomorrow I have roast beef in fridge that has to be used so we will be having roast beef, potatoes, roast potatoes (my bf is fussy!!) veg and yorkshire pudding Im hungry now lol
