E colours in food what do you think

there has been a lof of comments for many months on the effect of E coloured numbers for various foods and colouring for sweets etc,i thought it wasall a bit of a myth like a lot of things we hear in society nowadays, but ive got to admit when my son has sweets or food that have E colours in the product it drives him hyper active,i dont know what percentage it effects people in the way it effects my son but its crazy, one minute he is fine, normal kid, then after he has had E colours he goes mad, does this effect you or your child?,interesting comments await i hope!............

Without a doubt we will all benefit form the removal of E numbers and artificial colours and flavourings from our foods . It will be wonderful if it means we will see a reduction in the alarming number of childen displaying hyperactive behaviour after eating certain foods. ( though i have a theory that some parents i know just use this as an excuse for the fact their children are out of control, full stop, either with or without additives). Hope this ban comes into effect sooner rather than later.

I worry all the time about what i am feeding my children to the extent where I don't want to buy any processed food for them and check labels religiously. I then feel really guilty when they want sweets as a treat and I try to get them to have milk chocolate or something of that ilk as it is clearer what is in it. Thankfully smarties are now "natural" and hopefully other companies will move towards doing the same. I don't really trust any e numbers as my understanding is such that I can't determine which are ok and which potentially dangerous/ hyperactivity inducing.

Being a parent I often worry about E numbers and try to avoid letting my daughter have anything with an e-number in it. Why they were put into ingredients in the first place I don't know ( the mind boggles ) if you what I mean. What many people don't probably know that there is an E number in calpol so cannot aviod this one!! crazy I know let's hope they ban them sooner rather than the latter

For many years, I suffered intense migraine headaches after eating certain sweets, foods and drinking packaged breads and fruit juices that contained E numbers. I cut them all out and I am delighted that the FSA has, at long last, realised that E numbers do affect adults and children alike and will be doing something about it. Give a child sweets or orange squash and watch them turn into monsters within 10 minutes. Im all for taking out the additives.
