The mighty OWLS - Sheffield Wednesday - who play their home games at Hillsborough - in the Championship now for 3 seasons (only just escaped relegation on the last day of their season by beating Norwich 4-1 at home - what a win - in front of the leagues' largest crowd of the season - 36,000 . In Brian Laws we have a gritty & witty manager, who has gone through the mill in the past 12 months - with major flooding at the ground las June, boardroom defections, sale of best players & an incredible run of bad luck with injuries. The speculation of a takeover during has been hanging over SWFC for some time - and with debts amounting to 27M this would probably be welcome. The squad is in need of strengthening, in my opinion, in the midfield area - few creative players in sight & not many ball-winners. However, defensively there has been considerable improvement with the arrival of some youngsters through our Academy - notably Richard Woods, Tommy Spurr (who won best Championship Goal of the season on SKY this week) and Mark Beevers (already called up to Engladn U19s). IMO the OWLS shoudl be fighting hard for a place in the Premiershiin in the '08-'09 season - it's time for a massive turn around in their fortunes - I can't wait to see it happen...
Arsenal!!!! By far one of the best teams to watch, silky passing and great runs off the balls, if the opposition create the slightest gap in their defense Arsenal will exploit it and rip right through.
sheffield united i hve been watching them from a very young age and am pleased that my children have season tickets for next season so will enjoy taking them to what will hopefully be the season we go back to the premiership.
