I think there is more stress due to less job security and less family stability and its wearing on people's emotions? However, there must be other factors?? Can anyone out there explain?
Everyone is too wrapped up in their own lives to have the consideration for anyone else. It really annoys me when I hold a door open for someone and they just barge through without a smile or thankyou or nothing. As my dad has always taught me manners cost nothing and a smile can really cheer someones day up. I find people begrudge some people good things only because they dont have it themselves. People can generally be very selfish in their thinking and not take into account other peoples thoughts and feelings.
People think too much of themselves, what they want, its all me, me, me instead of thinking about anyone else. Most people are out for what they can get, its a case of I'm all right Jack.
Because kids tend to be undisciplined nowadays, I think it can feel as if folk aren't as nice as they used to be. Certainly I have noticed people dont queue any more, it is just a scrum when the bus comes. But I see examples of kindness and courtesy all the time when I am out, and in turn I always try to be pleasant, hold doors open for people, smile etc. There ARE still lots of good people around, and plenty of good kids too - it is just that the mindless minority can make the rest of us feel as if the world isnt a nice place any more.
People seem to think that the world owes them a living. You make your own way in the world and too many people seem to begrudge other people what they have and be always wishing for more than they have theirselves instead of appreciating what they have theirselves.
