said to be one of the the oldest profesions but would legalising help solve the problems street prostitutes bring comunitys ? Prostitution legalised in some counties finds brothel owners paying tax and employee health insurance and removes women from roadsides in neighbourhoods sounds like a good idea to me and the goverment would actually make money wonder why they havnt followed suit as other countries already i dont think this profession of selling sex will ever be stopped and the only way forward must then be to control it move it from our streets into a safer enviroment for both the public and the working girls im sure we would all agree being stopped by there clients when you are not a prostitue and just walking along the street needs stopping now
If there wasnt a market for prostitutes and the services they provided there wouldnt be any prostitutes!! While there are still men and women out there willing to pay for the services prostitutues or escorts provide then as my title suggets it will always be 'business a usual' The only problem is more often than not behind every prositute is someone talking the majority of the money they earn. Its a shame that drugs now seem to dominate the profession in general and they are always those ready to take advantage of that.
I think that prostitution in this country, should be regulated as it is in Amsterdam. There, it is a recognised profession, there are dedicated professionals to help prostitutes, and they are not in the same kind of situation as they are here. I think that the problem in Britain is due to the money involved, and the unscrupulous pimps. If prostitution was regulated the same as any other profession, paying taxes, etc, then there would not be as big an issue with it. It is our own backward views that have brought the issues we currently have with prostitution. If we accept that this is something that is likely to always be there, and work to improve the conditions for the girls, then the problems will improve. Education goes a long way to change.
All prostitutes should be able to work out of legalised brothels so that they are safe. Just because a someone is a sex worker, it shouldn't give anyone the right to think they can take unfair advantage of that person. They should have the same legal and employment rights and protections as everyone else.
really sad that people still resort to this as a profession to pay the bills. need to give more help to these women who have been trapped into this life
If it is a free exchange between consenting adults, then it should be legal. Of course, the problems of forcing girls into prostitution is a more series matter but without legal prostitution it is difficult to separate the willing from the coerced.
People prostitute themselves for many reasons but I believe the biggest motivation is drug related; as it is contributary to much of crime, violence, gangs unsociable behaviour and some avoidable mental health issues. If we sort out the drugs issues I dare say that prostitution may continue in some form but nowhere near how it exists today. I have a web site that discusses political solutions to drugs (among other things) if you would like to stick my name into a search engine.
