Do you pray and if so where and when do you pray and who do you pray to? what do you say in your prayers and do you get answers to your prayers? I pray, and i believe we can pray anywhere, we don't need to be in a church. I pray to family members who have passed over and to my best friend who died of cancer. I also pray to the angels and my spirit guides and to a higher power. I ask for help with problems and for protection and guidance . I also pray for world peace and for those who are ill or grieving and those who haven't got enough food and shelter. i pray for the animal kngdom too. I feel my prayers are usually heard, and are often answered, sometimes surprisingly quickly. What are your thoughts, do you find praying is useful or not relevant in your life?
No. I once had a prayer answered. It was most disconcerting. There was I, a confirmed and strident atheist, humiliated by stress to the extent that I was forced to seek divine help, and, damn it all, God had the cheek to answer. Talk about adding insult to injury. I was forced to admit that all my life I had been wrong, and not just a little bit wrong, either. Fundamentally wrong. All my opinions, all my values, all my theories, all needed revisiting, reevaluating, and repairing in the light of the new evidence. And, on top of all that, there was the dreadful need of repenting of my sins - a process with as much psychological appeal as a basket of venomous serpents. No, I do not pray any more, and I don't recommend it, either.
