Frank Lampard is a joy to watch, I'm not a chelsea fan but he is one of the reason why I tune in to watch a chelsea match. I think when people compare him to Gerrard it's not a fair assessment because when people watch a chelsea game you also see the likes Drogba, Cole, Essien, Shevchenko and Terry but when a Liverpool game is on Gerrard is there only world class player so he tends to be more infulential on the games. Lampard is a good all rounder and is in my opinion the best midfielder in the prem at this moment in town because he scores some amazing like the one in the champions league against Barca but he also has a knack for being at the right place at the right time which shows his positioning is one of his strong points.Franks Lampard has recently been criticised when he's been playing for England but hasn't everyone. Frank Lampard is a fantastic player.
Frank James Lampard, Jr., (born 20 June 1978) is an English football player currently at Chelsea and previously with West Ham United and Swansea City. Lampard is a central midfielder known for his powerful long-range shots and prolific goalscoring abilities from midfield.
Lampard was born in Romford, Havering, England. He is the son of Frank Lampard Sr., the former England fullback and two-time FA Cup winner with West Ham United. His family is related to another famous footballing family, the Redknapps.
A current England national team regular, Lampard is acknowledged as one of the most improved players in English football over the past three years.[1][2] He has won the English Premiership twice (with Chelsea, 2004-05 and 2005-06), twice the League Cup (with Chelsea, 2005 and 2007), the FA Community Shield (with Chelsea, 2005), and the UEFA Intertoto Cup (with West Ham, 1999).
In November 2005 he was named runner-up to Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho in the European Footballer of the Year awards. A month later he finished in second place, once again behind Ronaldinho, in the 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year awards. He was also named FWA Footballer of the Year in 2005.
May not be the most classy midfielder in the world but he does his job perfectly for his club. may not be performing at international level just as yet but i have a feeling his best form is yet to come and with the european qualifiers just around the corner he will be one player to keep a look out for. he has scored more goals than many top strikers this season and is definately one of the best players in the premiership and in my opinion he is one of the best players in the world at this present moment. Right up there with the rohnaldinios
I think the sexy Mr Lampard plays as well as he looks. He is a credit to the Chelsea team. Number one in most peoples books. In my opinion he plays his best 99 percent of the time, (we all have off days!!) Whenever he's on the pitch, you count on him to shine Not many teams are privileged to have such dedicated players, as the majority of Chelsea players are, Players like this one are bound to go far!! The team are great, my boys in blue But Frank, in my eyes the best is you The whole team are brill whether home or away at the top of the league we surely will stay especially Frank, my hero.
Voted England?s Player of the Year by supporters of the national team in 2004 and 2005, Frank Lampard has been an inspirational figure for both club and country in that time. He was England?s top scorer in the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup? and provided Chelsea?s main source of goals during their successive Premiership triumphs in 2004/05 and 2005/06. Lampard, who came second behind Ronaldinho in the 2005 voting for FIFA World Player of the Year, has worked hard to achieve his current status in the game. Steven Gerrard, his partner in England?s midfield, considers him ?probably the most improved player in the world? over the last two years, describing his progress in that time as ?unbelievable?.
A schoolboy cross-country runner, Lampard his shown plenty of resilience in his rise up the football ladder. It is now ten seasons since Lampard made his debut for West Ham United, the club where he grew up under the watchful gaze of his father and uncle, Frank Lampard Sr and Harry Redknapp, who were assistant manager and manager respectively.
There were ups and downs at Upton Park for the young Lampard, as he recalled when he collected his award for the English Football Writers? Player of the Year in May 2005. ?I remember running on the touchline and being told, ?Go and sit down with your uncle and dad because you?re not good enough to get on the pitch?,? he said.
Lampard gradually began to fulfil his promise as a goalscoring midfielder, registering seven-goal hauls in each of his last two seasons with West Ham, before he joined Chelsea in an 11million transfer in 2001. By this time he was an England international, having made his debut came against Belgium in 1999, but it was not until the 2003/04 season that he finally won a regular starting place in the national side.
another fantastic season for Frank , who would have thought when he was signed from West Ham that he would end up being such an influential player for chelsea , his work rate is incredible , he scores goals week in and week out , jose has already stated many times that wherever he goes frank will go with him if he can get him to , he has also said he is in his opinion the best midfield player in the world , i would find it very very hard to argue with that for his commitment and consistence over the past few seasons , superb
frankie is one of the greatest players in the world and many people dont realise it. people think he is crap because he shoots from distance and some times misses but why dont you try doing that against some of the greatest teams on earth eh........... you couldent do half as good as he does and he play for an amazing team and who do you play for eh..........some crap sunday leauge team im guesing and i bet you dont no the first thing about kicking a ball into a net you just play it because all your fat mates do.
This is a very good, hard working player who has been mistaken for a world class player due to his remarkable goal-scoring record. He was integral to Chelsea's back-to-back title campaigns but I think this season is better reflecting his actual talent. His world cup was abysmal, along with several other England players, and whilst I'd be happy to have Lampard in the England midfield he should only start if Gerrard is injured. This would allow either Carrick or Hargreaves a run in the team or perhaps even an untested player such as Joey Barton. He is perfectly suited to Premiership football and if I was rating him on his ability to kick the ball really hard and score deflected goals then it would be a 5-star rating without a doubt!
