For most people, it's a matter of healthy choices and plenty of exercise. Children will learn from there parents and other adults around them. My 10 month old sees me eating chocolate and wants to taste what mummy has and it can only get worse once she's able to say 'I want...' or go to the corner shop by herself. As parents we have a responsibility to teach our children good habits, not just eating, but playing and exercise too. It's not hard to stick on some music and dance around the lounge like an idiot - my wee one loves to be active and I hope that I shall be able to encourage this as she grows making activity a fun part of every day, and not just something you do in the gym when you've had too many carry-outs!
Little boy of about three walking along with one of those giants Greggs pasties today, which was about as big as his forearm. If that's how we're teaching our kids about eating no wonder levels of child obesity are growing. I do agree with bigmamma3 though, just because you are overweight doesn't mean you eat loads of junk food. Just because you are overweight, doesn't mean you can't be fit either. There are lots of fit peopel at my gym who are overweight.
Totally agree that it is parents responsibility for the food there children eat no use blaming fast food outlets parents take them in there choice but the wrong one they just cannot say no to the kids shame on the parents unless there is a medical reason for that child being overweight
Rubbish,i eatn good ealthy food and takeaways,i have enough exercise from being a mum to two boys,so not all overweight people eat too much junk food,i most probably eatless junk food that a slim person would
