Although the film was fairly ok to watch (not so bad that you have to turn it off) it was pretty rubbish. Considering the books were quite good it's a shame the film didn't live up to them. It tried to be like LOTR in so many ways though... did anyone else notice more than passing similarities between the evil guy's fortress and Mordor? There was a real lack of imagination in this production. You could finish off sentences for the characters - it was too much of a cliche. It's the sort of film you might watch if it came on the t.v. one boring sunday afternoon but i wouldn't buy the dvd. In fact i'd probably be kicking myself if i had paid to go and see it at the cinema!
I prefer the book to the film. This is a matter that can come to a number of conclusions of which many are not either right or wrong. It is just plainly a matter of opinion and I think all points of view should be understood and well respected as only one view may not be necessarily be right and everyone has the right to say and express their own opinions. This matter may be talked about for a while and I think that there will be no rapid conclusions from just one person's opinions. I believe that a number of things do affect the conclusion and my belief and therefore my opinion may be a little biased to what I think matters. I believe that they are great.
In his homeland of Alagaesia, a farm boy happens upon a dragon's egg -- a discovery that leads him on a predestined journey where he realized he's the one person who can defend his home against an evil king. I was very disappointed with Eragon. I was expecting more and got nothing in return. The acting was rather horrible with only Rachel Weisz's voice performance( the dragon) giving the only good acting in the entire film and Jeremy Irons doing more than he should have with the horrible dialog he was giving. The script felt like it was written by a five year old with no sense of wonder at all and while the special effects were great for the dragon, it was not very good any where else. I also have not read the books on which this film is based on but judging on how bad this film was, I'm not going to waste my time.
