What measure will you take to avoid the forecast Swine Flue explosion?
Liz_nzOpinion by Liz_nz
I just read that swine flu in the UK is moving from the containment phase to the treatment phase, and that approx 100,000 people a day are likely to become infected with the swine flu.
I understand that it's worse for people with compromised immune systems but never the less, I don't want to catch it.
What measures are you going to take to avoid catching it?

I very much doubt there is anything you can do apart from go and live on a desert island for a year. I think keep as healthy as you can then if you come into contact with it you will have a fighting chance it will not effect you too much.

There isn't anything you can do, its like the standard flu, its airborne and most of us will come into contact with it. Chances are I have or will be as someone I work with has a daughter off as at today with an unconfirmed case of swine flu.

Personally I will just keep using my hospital grade hand wash that we have provided at work, carry my little antibacterial bottle for when I am out and be wary and careful of where I eat and having extremely good hand hygiene.

Just annoying if you are self employed as it has a major impact on your income, whereas if you're self employed its just paid sick leave.
