Oh please don't give up on love. It can happen when you least expect it. I have been lucky to have been married for nearly 30 years and I do appreciate it but it takes work from both partners to make it work. Even if you have loved in the past it doesn't preclude you from loving in the future. Good luck and stay positive......

My sister lost her husband a few years ago and she felt like you. Since then she has met and married a lovely man and they are so happy together.She is 62 and he is 61. So you see, it does happen. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful husband , but in the past i made a bad mistake with a man and thought for a long time that all men were b*****d,s.
Now i know different and can trust and love again.
With a lovely sense of humour like your,s , you would be a good catch for a lucky lady.x x

I realised when my mother died how little we appreciate those who we truly love in our lives, luckily I did tell her regularly so I didn't have regrets but since I lost her I have learnt to make sure that I daily tell those who are closest to me to take care and that I care about them and I don't let little things get overblown as I appreciate my husband and the great relationship we have.

Unfortunately its human nature that we tend to only learn by our mistakes and as much as you can tell people that they should appreciate what they have, unless they lose that they never truly understand the truth behind those words. We as humans learn from experience and few have the ability to truly learn from others advice.

You will be loved again eddie and you will love again, it just seems impossible at the moment but there is always someone around the corner, maybe a few miles off but there is always someone. It won't be exactly the same sort of love but it will be love :)

We all have regrets and hindsight is a wonderful thing. After I left my ex who was abusive and violetn I never thought I would find true love. Then I met my partner and he helped build me back up in to a strong confident person and helped to get me back again. Please eddie, don't give up. You can find love in the most unexpected of places, just keep your heart open. You seem to me to be a sweet lovely guy who has a lot to offer, and there will be someone out there who will help you to love again.

Dont waste your time on regrets Eddie! The past has gone and you can never recover it but you can use the present to make new friends. Did I read sometime ago that you are housebound? There are some good sites that put housebound people in touch with each other and I know of a couple of people who have become close friends. We always want what we cant have but its best to move on from that longing by finding ways to make your present life enjoyable. And dont write off ever finding love again. You will be amazed at how it finds you when you least expect it to. Keep up the chirpy opinions. We all love reading them and responding accordingly.

hi eddie, dont ever give up on finding love, maybe what u had failed, and perhaps it was for a reason, u wont know that yet until u find your next episode in life, there is someone out there for all of us, i was married back in the eighties he seemed perfect, but within 6 yrs the marriage fell apart,he was violent and spent all the money on his hobbies,(drums and pigeons) i didnt cherish the thought of starting again, but decided to just go, so i got a flat and moved on with my life, i started another relationship which lasted 6 yrs again, he was selfish as well he kept all his money to himself and wouldnt even support his child, so that ended too, so i stayed on my own for quite a long time, i cut myself off from everything, i ended up a recluse, never going anywhere, i was stuck in a rut, then i met my soul mate, we knew straight away we where meant to be together, we got engaged and married within the year, he's the love of my life, he's a good husband he looks after me very well, and i wouldnt swap him for the world, things happen for a reason, and you will find someone, who will love and respect you for who you are,you need to get out and and start lookin for that special woman who is out there waiting for you to speak to her, GOOD LUCK let us all know when youve met her...catherine:)
