I find racist language offensive but when I watched the thing with Harry on youtube it seemed like it had all been blown out of proportion. The problem as I see it is that Prince Harry is supposed to represent the British people, that is the responsibility that comes with the money and privilege of being born a royal. A lot of tax payer money goes on the royal family so I think it's right that we expect our royal family to behave in a way that makes our country look good, not like we're a group of racists. However, Harry is not an elected official, he never chose to be a royal and for me it just highlights another reason why we shouldn't have a royal family.
think it has been taken the wrong way. the press are like a dog with a bone, leave him alone!! Every tiny thing they say is analysed to much, he's a young man, let him get on with his life, he's had enough heartache in it>
It was 3 years ago and it was a private video so someoe is out to cause troube for him.The platoon are all mates and I bet they have been called all sorts of names. it should be dropped and let him get on with his job! sticks and stones may break your bones but calling never harmed you was what we were taught when children, and we survived!
i think whatever the royal family or anyone in the public eye says seems to be taken way out of proportion.. everyone is entitled to thier own opinions
It is offensive. He is in a unique position and can rightfully expect some degree of privacy. However calling a fellow officer cadet by a racially offensive nickname is never correct and unacceptable in a modern democracy by anyone let alone a public figure such as Harry. However he is probably influenced by the inappropriate and offensive remarks his grand father has also made in the past to members of other cultures.
I think that there are more important things happening in the world and that it is quite minor and that we need to move on.
Things in the army are entirely different to things with civilians and if people knew the half of what goes on (ignoring a royal being involved) they would be shocked and not understand.
I think it was said in jest to a mate/colleague with no racism intended. It was 3 years ago and he's grown up a lot since then-is only human and he's apologised so lets leave it now.
