And that is a retorical question by the way or is this becoming the Spainish Toluna!! But what is it with the influx of opinions and polls in spainish? Are they actually interested in the opinions on the site or is there something going on with the spainish site that they are all posting on here? The numbers are increasing daily and for the hell of me I cant figure out why. maybe there is a clique going on.
Que? :) :) :) :) It wasn't just Spanish, for a little whi;e we had a few French and German visitors too, didn't we, but they seem to have mostly gone away again now.
I agree. It seems like all of a sudden you need to be bilingual to go on the site. Have no means of understanding why. i Wonder if any of our posts are going on the spanish site or if they are posting on both sites to get more points.
I think it's because when you register, you select a language, and if you select spanish you see spanish polls, if you select german you see german polls. Perhaps there is a large number of people joining from Spain who are ticking the English language option and therefore having their opinions posted on the English section. Mind you, the quality of a lot of the English on this site is terrible, I find the Spanish less annoying than the poor English.
Thank Darwin I'm not alone. I thought I was doing something wrong with my settings and have tried to reset it to give me only opinions in English, but still they keep coming. I'm sure their opinions are fascinating and I would ove to reply, but for the life of me I have no idea what they say as I can't speak more than two or three words of Spanish. maybe its the dreaded Toluna glitch again thats infecting the Spanish site?!
I've also noticed that when I first log on to my homepage on Toluna, instead of bringing up sponsored polls in English, sponsored polls in German are coming up! I definately didn't put down that I could speak any languages other that English so I don't know why its doing that. It's very frustrating though - there are enough totally stupid timewaster polls and opinions to wade through without also have to scroll through dozens of German/Spanish polls that I can't understand!
I've been wondering what's going on too. I suspect there is actually just one Toluna site and users are shown the content in the languages they've selected in their user profile. When you create a new poll or opinion topic (but not when you reply to an existing one) there is a drop down box to select the language you are writing in. For me, the default is English, and if I want to post in French then I should change what's in that box so only the people who've opted to receive French content can see it. Maybe there is an IT problem such that the Spanish site is showing English as the default and so their postings are becoming visible to us? Or maybe some Spanish people have registered through the UK site and so have English as their default and haven't changed it.
