How do you think "toluna" can improve this site?

Definitely bring in Paypal - that would be a great idea. Repairing the website so that opinions stick at the first time of asking would be the best improvement. Not sure about messaging though - it could get a bit overwhelming and would be to easily subject to abuse from some of the less friendly members. I would like to be able to post on my own topics in reply to some of the opinions on there - it's frustrating to have a point made and not be able to rebut it, or even add something you only thought of later.

I most certainly would like the ability to delete my own duplicate opinions as they are quite annoying lurking in my profile. I also agree with the idea of a controlled PM system from people I would know. It would worry about it getting abused otherwise and it could just put me off everything completely. I certainly would also like to be able to reply to opinions on my topics to help clarify things and reply to questions other people have. That would probably be on the top of my list. After they have made it so refreshing the page all the time was not necessary as Cynthia said. Uh and a while ago someone suggested having a date on replies. I would like that too for when I wonder to the older messages in catogories. It would be nice to know if the topic was long dead before I got there too.

I really do agree with all the points you have made dicka but the main one I really feel ought to be added is that we should be able to post our opinions at the first postings and by now it is really getting ridiculous that this problem has still not been sorted. Yesterday I only managed to post about two opinions and the same for the day before I must have tried to post about thirty but they would just not be accepted. When all said and done this is an opinion site yet many people are unable to post opinions. Come on Toluna get this problem sorted out as soon as possible.

Hi Dicka42, I could not agree more than the part of replying to emails. It is so rude to send emails and not have an acknowledgment let alone a reply, bad manners. What Toluna have not realised is that if it was not for members ie, me you and everybody else that spends time on here they will not make any money or have a website. As they get paid for a surveys etc to be completed they only pass a small percentage of that on to us the members that complete the surveys. Withour all of us they wont make money and there would not be a Toluna so they should get their act together. As for sending messages to one another this would be great. I must admit I have contacted a few members through Facebook on the Toluna group, but withour knowing peoples real names unless they happen to have the same picture for their profile as they do for Toluna it is hard to know who is who. There are many improvements Toluna could make to the site but I would rather they fix they glitches since they changed it first. For nearly a month I have not been able to create any opinions, I can only reply and that is hit and miss. But lets see what happens with fixing the broken bits first then start getting them to try and add extra things on.

I don't know if I want people to be able to send me messages either as I think this could easily be abused or just used to be a pain in the butt and also to argue the point on things, so don't think its a bad idea but it would have to have an option where you could select whether or not you wanted to accept messages from a member before they can send them.

I am think paypal is a great idea but considered the reduced value you would get personally I would never use it - combined with the fees I would get charged by them for receiving the funds.

I think the main thing I would want done to improve the site at present are:

1. Toluna to offer a 48 hour customer service response on all emails

2. Toluna to award points on a set basis month in and month so you know when they are expected

Would rather see those two items sorted before adding any new features that will just cause more problems.

I'm not sure about being able to send messages to one another. It could be abused or just over used by those who think it's OK to send messages to people they have no real connection with. It would have to be accompanied by a way of blocking messages from members whom you don't want to bother you and then that opens the whole question of whether you should tell these people or just let them think that you are rude or there is a persistant IT problem. That needs a lot of thought.

I'd like some way of adding to an opinion topic you've created, to clarify something or expand on a point that someone else queries. Again it would need to be well thought out so it couldn't be used for a ding-dong argument back and forth.

But most of all, I'd urge Toluna not to start adding any new features until they've fixed the existing problems!

On one of my opinions (topics?) I have just mentioned that I sent an email and got a reply the next day. I have also just posted a message on the blog, and received notification that the matter was being dealt with. that's a start, but nothing has happened yet. At least it's a start.

The messaging system is a good idea.

Spell checker.

Return to edit topics.

Removal of old/closed topics.

Paypal? Not a bad idea, but I know several people who want nothing to do with paypal, but as they say, horses for courses.
