when I had some extra weight that I wanted to loose I used Weight Watchers and found it really good, and very easy to follow because it doesnt restrict what you can eat really, just how much!
After having two babies myself, second time around seemed to be a lot more difficult to shift the excess pounds. I tried reducing my portions at meal times, only eating over half the meal. Hardwork sometimes but it does seem to work. have lost half a stone in the last six months
regular exercise and cutting out the snacks. swap crisps and chocolate for fruit and veg snacks. in terms of changing the shape of your body no diet will work long term without the incorporation of exercise. its easy to fit it into your life, anything that gets your heart beating faster is good for you. running after your 2 kids should get you abit sweaty at least, go walking with the pram instead of using the car and things like that.
i had been trying to lose weight for 6 years after i put loads of weight on after having my second child and nothing and no amount of exercise worked until i drew a loss and confronted my doctor he put me on xenical casules tehy block the bodys fat consumption and makes your body use whats there there are adverse side affects though your no2's are very slimy and you secrete an orange oil with it not pretty but it works unless you suffer from i.b.s which i do ...so the dr put me on reductil instead which speeds your metabilism up thats good too but you have to have regular blood pressure checks done with that and exercise regularxxx
eating sensible, 5 fruit & veg each day, use a smaller plate to reduce portion sizes, avoid fast food/take aways, drink loads of water to fill yourself up, make up sugar free jelly to eat when you want a sweet treat - don't waste money on slimming clubs ... spk to other mums at playgroups/nursery/work and do your own weigh-in's / swap recipes etc
First off, i would kill to be 9 and a half stone! Second, The only real way to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF is a balanced diet and excercise. I did start going to the gym, but only managed 6 weeks till I found out I was pregnant, so gave up, but managed to lose a stone in that time. Will deffo be going back after xmas after baby is born and have been a total glut over xmas!
Diets don't work on the whole and its proven. The best way to move the weight and more importantly tone things again is to do exercise and reduce the number of calories you eat per day.
Cut back on the high sugar, fat and salt items and work on replacing them with healthier alternatives, fruit, veg, fish etc and then get out and about and if you have kids what better way then taking them walking.
Personally lost a heap of weight without dieting and without cutting out by simply doing 1 hour of walking each day and changing my eating habits to cut back on the bad stuff and increase the good stuff and change my snacking to fruits or vegetable rather than biscuits or chocolate.
