I'll be taking part as a volunteer at a local archaeological dig for the next three days. I was there for three days a few weeks ago and we were uncovering Roman industrial remains. Things will have moved on a little since then, so it'll be interesting to be back. So if you don't see many postings from me over the next few days, you'll know why.
Then on Sunday it's the Imagineering engineering show in Coventry, aimed at children. I'm taking my son to see what he makes of it.
P.S. I've posted part 4 of the Famous Women in History poll series. Have a look (and at the previous three parts).
I do have to work for a few hours over the weekend, but, once that is out of the way...
We are taking good friends of ours out for a meal. They are from London and like a helping of the countryside every now and again.
What we end up doing will very much depend on whether or not the sun decides to make an appearance. Has been lovely here today and I am 'hoping' it lasts.
But as I have been beguiled and let down by hope a number of times recently, I am not betting on it!
That sounds fantastic, is that dig based in Coventry too or somewhere else? I wish you all the best though and I hope the weather is great for you. I do not have anything planned for this weekend, maybe just a nice walk if it is sunny or some baking if it is not.
Hi Dawes1, Wow the dig sounds fascinating, i haven’t seen one before. You will have to let us know all about your little adventure when you get back. I would love to hear about it. I hope you and your son have a great day out together on Sunday too. I haven’t got much planned. We took our two little ones out conkering last weekend but they weren’t quite ready, the kids enjoyed themselves loads so we might take them again this weekend. And of course it’s an F1 Weekend so i wouldn’t want to go too far any way. Have fun with everything your doing xx lulu
I believe that I am intended to stand shivering in the garden and look on adoringly as my husband fits a fender extender to his motorbike. And presumably hold things in place for him, provide cups of tea, point out in a not-smug-at-all-after-the-fact fashion the vital bit in the instructions leaflet when he realises it's on the wrong end of the bike, and so on. With this weather the plan would normally be to get on the bike and just go somewhere for the fun of the ride, but my neck is sooooo bad right now that I may not be able to. Hope you have a great time. Remember now, one for all and all for one if you find any gold artefacts!
I wish, boring weekend coming up this weekend. Although with it being sunny we may head up to Canary Wharf for lunch if the DLR is running as the last time we went up it was not working so we ended up cutting our plans short as couldn't be bothered lining up for half an hour for a bus to take 1 hour to get us there.
If the weather stays nice I would like to head down to the park on Sunday and enjoy the last of the sunny days (with a jacket and possibly gloves) and say goodbye to summer in preparation for winter to hit.
