i love most colours but my favourite is purple whenever i am buying clothes or household items i am always drawn to purples, mauves & lilacs. i believe colour can change your mood i find if i am surrounded by reds i feel powerful, oranges and yellows make me feel happy and energised, greens make me calm, purple just gives me a feeling of all round wellness. dark colours like brown , black & greys depress me. creams, whites & pale pinks make me feel tranquil , blues make me feel awake and alert. do colours affect anyone else this way ?
Wearing bright clothes definitely lifts my mood. As a man, in the workplace the two options for me are to wear bright shirts and / or ties. Bright shirts are tolerated as long as they are plain and not mad patterns like Hawiian. I love red shirts and yellow shirts but I'm having difficulties finding new ones as the current fashion is for pastels (yuck). Luckily they last a long time.
I'd love a bright orange shirt, but despite looking I've never found one (I mean work shirts, not casual ones). I always wear the shirts with black trousers to emphasise the colour.
I like the way colours affect you. My favourite colour is purple from something I liked in the past, and blue because I am practically obsessed with Neptune. So mood doesn't affect me too much apart from when I start to pick colours. I have found though that as my mood has become happier I have become open to more colours. A few years ago I wouldn't be seen dead in anything other than black, with white as my worst enemy. Now I don't mind wearing white, though it hasn't become one of my favourite colours. I do wish colours affected me like you. That sounds fantastic.
My favourite colour from a clothing point of view is black and it doesn't make me feel anything bar relaxed as it is easier than having to mix and match colours and patterns etc as I don't like wasting time on that in the mornings.
With regards to rooms my favourite colour is terracotta as its a nice warm colour that reminds me of sunny days at the beach and one of the nicest houses we ever lived in.
I don't really find that colours affect me that much although I couldn't stand having red walls in a house as for some reason when I have stayed in red rooms I just feel really uncomfortable and want to get out of them. Maybe the colour was affecting me but I just didn't realise it.
