In these modern times of everyone having access to computers and the web I just wondered if people prefer getting a quick e-mail that can be read, actioned and deleted or do you prefer the excitement of an actual real live letter dropping through the letterbox? I do like e-mails but they can be a tad annoying what with all the endless "not funny" forwards that people send on and the spam that can fill up your inbox just like that. Sometimes it is nice to get a nice letter from someone you like and care about, kick back on the sofa with your feet up and read (although sometimes people's writing can be a problem LOL!). Please enlighten me with your very worthy opinions on the matter. Typing is obvioulsy accepted in this situation!!!
Much prefer emails its so much more convenient, easy, quick and accessible. I can't see any advantage letters have over them, you have to open them and discard them.
I don't think anybody writes these days although it was nice to recieve a letter in the post.I get a thrill to get an email from my daughter who I see quite often anyway. The phone is free after six and free all weekend for friday six till monday morning at six , so whats the point of buying stamps it is cheaper to phone or email these days and quicker and if you have a web camera see them as well.I don't do that I like to see someone in person and it gets you out of the house
It depends on what the message is about. For Thank You's, it will ALWAYS be a handwritten letter. For quick queries, and email. The problem with email is you have to sort through all the tat to get to an email that's relevant. With a handwritten note, it's obvious, AND it shows that you've made an effort!
I LOVE TO RECIEVE A HAND WRITTEN LETTER BUT I ALSO LOVE TO GET EMAILS I SUPPOSE IF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE A BIT BUSY ITS EASYER FOR THEM TO JUST SEND A QUICK E-MAIL AND THINK OF IT THIS WAY YOU SAVE PAPER AND STAMPS
Thats a tough one, I must admit I used to enjoy regular hand written letters through the post but its just not viable anymore, email is free quick and takes a quarter of the time, theres no faffing about for pen and paper buying stamps and making the time to post a letter, I do think emails can be rather inpersonal and often come accross as rushed and abit naff, it is just todays society and we need to learn to live with it, email is the way forward . As with many things!
an email can be hand written using a tablet PC or software and hardware on the PC, But id rather get an email, faster response, lots of cool fonts and cool emotions to show how your feeling.
handwritten letters show that someone has really put the thought and effort into what theyre saying to you, and it shows they think your worth the effort of spending that little bit extra time on it
