Nope never I have had one case of camplobacter and would never do anything that could possibly give me food poisoning as its just not worth it. Generally we eat everything in our fridge well before it hits a use by date but if by chance we miss it then it just goes straight into the bin. Couldn't think of anything worse than eating mayo or egg that has gone off. Funnily this week someone in the office opened a jar of mayonnaise that had been in the fridge and it had gone off and it exploded when the lid came off and went everywhere and has stunk our kitchen out.
NO,not knowingly. As person who has medical education and working now in food industry I advice that you should never ever eat food past date its really dangerous because there can be filthy bacteria what can make you seriousely sick. Sometimes I buy meat in supermarkets the date is ok, but when you turn the tray upside down, you can see the meat has grey or greenish colour! I'm allways very carefull especielly with chicken, meat, fish and dairy products. At home, if in doubt, i better dump it, I think, if I'm cooking 4 my family or friends, i,m responsible for their safety so only fresh products.
Yes. I'll eat bread that has gone slightly stale, old crisps, etc. But I'm careful to avoid eating dairy or meat that's going off after a bad experience at university. It was approaching the end of term and I was a bit hard up and the fridge had a couple of beefburgers that had already been cooked. There were a few blue spots on them and I thought that if I scraped them off very very carefully I could then re-grill them to eat. Next day I walked in to lectures when I began to feel woozy, doubled up and was sick. I had food poisoning and was in bed for a couple of days. Never again!
Yes - and stopped eating immediately. I once bought a loaf of bread from a certain supermarket and made a sandwich with it when I got home, only to find the bread was mouldy - but fresh that day! Every little didn't help that day....
