How far from the coast do you live? I probably live about thirty miles away from the coat and the nearest to us is probably Lytham St Annes although there is not much difference between there and Southport. my husband keeps saying we ought to consider living out the rest of our lives near the sea side but I would really miss living so close to all our family. This may be a consideration in a few years time because the sea side has always appealed to me and it would be lovely to walk along the sea edge each evening.
About 70 miles. I wish it was nearer as I love the seaside and my sister lives there and I would like to visit more often. With the cost of fuel now I think it is a very expensive day's outing. I have never considered moving there though as I was brought up in Bridlington and know it can be pretty bleak in the winter. Also the fairgound on the sea front has totally spoiled the place. As a child there was a floral hall, band stand and pretty gardens there. Last time I went it was noisy, dirty and litter-strewn. Sad!
Probably about 30 miles, though I don't visit the coast very often except when I'm going back to Scotland to see my parents, when we always try to fit in a visit to the beach. I do love a trip to the beach but there aren't good sandy beaches close by to where I currently live.
I was brought up a little south of Aberdeen where the coast and the mountains are quite close with only a 20 mile strip of fertile land between so I do like both. Add to that the tidal basin at Montrose with it's variety of birds (and I even saw a seal swimming in the mouth of the river there) and there is quite a variety of landscapes.
I live about 30 miles from the coast , the nearest coastline is St Marys Bay,Dymchurch lovely sandy beachs and it it quite natural down there plenty of sandy beach, amusments in you want them.Which on the whole unless we have our little grandchildren with us we don't bother with them as they all seem so expensive and the kids are not really bothered. But we don't go very often now because of theprice of fuel and my husband spends more time at work diving his lorry to make ends meet.Don't worry everyone dhl who my husband works for lorries are thecleanest in the world.
I live about 5 miles from the coast. spent a lot of time with my granparents when i was younger and they lived right on the coast and it just wouldnt feel like home if i lived to far inland. I work in a Country Park which is on the West Coast of Anglesey.
