I agree with nearly evryone here but i must say Icelanna no disrespect to your father but my hubby is waiting for dyalisis and his diatecian has told him that he needs to eat at least three small meals a day to lose the stone he needs to go onto thr transplant list and this dietician is a renal diectician so she knows what she is talking about, how can you dad have that reasoning as a nutritionist when we have told foe years to eat three small meals a day and any snacking should be on fruit or healthy items, sorry but i believe my hubby 's diectician before your dad, as clivr and eerybody else has said t will take you body tiome to get used to the change and then when your stomach starts to shrink you will be wanting to eat less anyway.
Yes, I have also been told by books and research material that you should eat regularly throughout the day for a couple reasons, it keeps your metabolism burning which means that you should raise your metabolic rate which can be beneficial if you are wanting to lose weight and have a slow metabolism and also your body stores fat after you eat till the next time you eat so if you eat regularly once your body recognises that it is a regular pattern it should store less fat which also help you lose weight as you won't be storing as much on you. But it doesn't work over night and you have to do it regularly otherwise your body doesn't accept it as a pattern. Also it is supposed to reduce your appetite at meal times as with eating regularly you don't suddenly want large meals at the main times so you reduce your consumption at lunch and dinner but ...... all only works if your in between meals are healthy meals and snacks.
Well, my grandfather ate about 8 times a day, small portions. He was slim and healthy and lived to a very ripe old age and worked pretty much up to the end.
no it's not, me dad is a nutritionist and eatin smaller meal means eating more than ur supposed to then u get even more hungry and binge eat n put on even more weight
