i work for british gas and have the prices increases explained in detail as most people are aware gas is linked to the price of crude oil and the price of petrol and diesel is astronomical. the gas in the north sea is now running low so companies have to import the gas from different countries which also cost more. i would advise people to fix or cap their prices and have a look who has the longest capping available because on only will there be prices shortly there is a lot of speculation there will be another one next year.
Well I was brought up with no heating and a lino floor. germs got killed, fire was appreciated and we lived closer to nature. GET THE WOOLIES OUT AND ENJOY THE CHANGE OF SEASON
Lack of investment and dithering by our government has put us in this position! How stupid is it that we send our oil to Europe and then buy it back again! Duuuuuurrrr!
I have also just changed my supplier I am now with Northern Electric but I have changed my supplier so many times this is just getting rediculous, but I honestly think it is the only way you can try to save a bit of money. The prices are just getting out of hand and yes I suppose we can all try to cut down on our usage especially at this time of year when the weather is not too bad but in winter it is going to be really hard especially for people on fixed incomes I think the only way is to sit in our coats with blankets round us.
I think the government should take over the utilities companies and control it themselves therefore they can make it fair and standardise costs and offer benefits to those that need it. They should also bo this the countries rail system
Isn’t it funny that everyone seems to be blaming this government for the price of fuel, whether gas, oil or electricity? It’s not even “the Arabs” who are to blame. We must thank that nice Mrs Thatcher for selling of the power companies, and allowing foreigners to buy them. They are now subsidising their own countries by holding us to ransom. Prices for gas and electricity have gone up much faster here than on the continent. Oils is going up because speculators are buying it and forcing the price up.
im with edf through sainsburys for both my gas and electric, they seem to be relatively cheap, im not sure how much it will be going up, not sure if i will change to some one else though. also with edf you get club card points to use in store so its not too bad, at the end of the day we all need gas and electric so how ever much the prices increase to , it is something we cant live without.
