Of course Brown should step down as prime minister. He is there due to a technicality. No one voted him into office and I think the U.K shold get to choose who governs them
yes yes yes, please...............he shouldn't have come to power anyway but look what we might have had JOHN PRESCOTT TWO JAGS so if i had to pick i would pick GB
I do agree magnius with what you say but then again if Brown stays as leader of the labour party the party has no chance what so ever of staying in power. He is our countries representative and even though I was not always happy with Tony Blairs politics at least he had charisma and the country was not embarrassed by him , on the whole he was quite a decent ambaassador for our country, but what has brown got? absolutely nothing he is dour with a deadpan expression and I am afraid he is disliked by so many people the party does not stand a chance if they keep him as their leader.
There is a very good chance that an upcoming by-election could trigger a leadership challenge. If Labour loses the seat in Scotland, which has been a solid Labour seat since time immemorial, then it could be Brown’s downfall. Already there are people lining up ready to take him on if they lose, so we could have a new Prime Minister by Christmas. People will of course complain that they did not elect the new leader, just like they complain that they did not elect Brown, but the leadership of a party is a matter for the party, not the public, and always has been, no rules were broken. When you vote in an election, you are voting for a party, not a person, and if that party want to keep changing their leader, and by default the Prime Minister then that is up to them not us.
