Men have been using make up for many years, for several reasons, enhancement or hiding inperfections/blemishs is just two obvious reasons. Nail vanish/polish seems to be a more recent trend, is this a step too far? After shave and body perfumes are now normal and men avoiding their use are deemed to be somewhat unsavoury when natural body odours prevail. Is this a regional issue, may be not just a north south thing, but urban rural? Are there specific make ups for men? Lipstick, nail varnish, eye make up etc, or do they simply use products traditionally made and sold for women. Personally I draw the line at after shave and deodorant, that said I'm fairly open minded about other men using cosmetics.
Each to his own and if men want to wear makeup their choice but I wouldn't be overly comfortable if my husband wore makeup. I like him to be masculine and the idea of him wearing makeup just doesn't sit well with me, also I think on younger guys its slightly different than if you get a guy in their 40's doing it. Also I take 10 minutes to get ready and would get annoyed if I had to wait for the guy to put on more makeup and take longer than me. Moisturiser fine to protect and look after their skin but not makeup for my men thanks.
My boyfriend doesnt wear make-up...he looks after his skin with lotion..etc...but he doesnt wear make-up...the only time he has is when on holiday i BEGGED him to let me give him a make-over....made a good looking 'bird' i think! but seriously, men and make-up = no to me..
personally i dont like makeup for men it makes it apper they are jealous of the female sex but if thats what they want and their partner doesntmind i say go for it
I think I would be freeked out if my husband wore make up. He draws the line at aftershave and deodrant. But he spends 10 minutes doing his hair with mouse and hairspray everyday even though he is going thin on top. My husband is what I would call a real man, tall, thick set a proper man. However, he does not mind wearing a pink shirt. We live in an area where men watch rugby not pansy football where men kiss each other (this is what they say not me), so when I first bought him a beautifull pink shirt he just looked at me gone off, but now by himself his wardrobe is getting pinker (I only mean about half a dozen shirts or so) but it does look very funny. My 6 year old just laughs when daddy has got a pink shirt on and the only time my son will put a pink shirt on is if daddy has got one on and none of his friends will see him.
My husband and three sons would never wear makeup, for a start most men are probably to lazy to apply it but I remember once my youngest son who was only a teenager at the time went for a night out and got a bit to merry and fell asleep, while he was in a doze one of his friends shaved off one of his eyebrows so I do remember for a few weeks after him using an eyebrow pencil to draw himself one. He would really kill me if he could see what I have written now.
