Everytime I try to create an opinion as I try to post it I get the lovely white and blue page with an error on it. I know they have been having problems with the system but I thought that had all been resolved now. Is anybody else still getting problems with trying to create opinions, post an opinion, create a poll or anything else with Toluna. Feel free to add you rant below, at least you will get a 100 points as long as you remember to make sure you are 80 words or more.
I have not had any real problems with toluna yet. I do get the error page when I post some opinions but if you just click the return to your homepage bit you will see that where it shows your dashboard it says your opinion has been successfully posted and it does actually post it, they you can just go back to adding opinions. I do have one problem though, the section to see where you are getting your points from does not load each time I click on the your points section! I get the error page :(
I do get the same problem but all you need to do is click on HOME PAGE (i think..if not the left hand option) and then it will bring you back to front page..go to your profile and your opinion should be there...
I often get the blue and white box after I have pressed the Im Done button but I now press the back button at the left hand corner of my screen twice and I somehow get back to the opinions page. Dont ask me how but its works for me. Anything too complicated and I give up. The latest problem I experience is that my opinion doesnt register and a red message comes up telling me so. I cant be bothered to remember and re-write my opinion so I leave it blank.
I get it probably 6 times a day or more when I post I'm Done and it comes up with the error page. 90% of the time it posts my opinion anyway but every now and then I find that it hasn't even though it looks like it has. Guaranteed they are the times when I haven't copied my answer just in case and when I come back I have to retype the whole thing. Its a little annoying but after all the major problems we had I sort of don't mine as its not a major impact for me.
I have just recently found that posting opinions is very interesting (especially those at least 80 words long ;) ). Unfortunately I found the same problems that you have. Especially creating opinions is a nightmare! You write a lot - usually a bit above 80 words ;) - and then you lose everything! Damn! Of course I remember now to copy everything I write... but still it's annoying, and it takes an awful lot of time to post anything... I hope it will be better this time!
It happens every time I type an opinion then press I'm Done up comes the blue and white error page. Annoying. But now I do what Dawn does and press thr back button which gets rid of the error page and you can see your opinion albeit in feint type. Just press the back button again and it takes you to the opinion page but if you look yoy'll find your opinion has been printed. Found that out a while ago and always works for me. Try it.
For God sake! Every other day we get somebody wasting our time, moaning about the same damn thing. Toluna, like most other websites, suffers from the occasional glitch, it is hardly life destroying and simply not worth posting up yet another opinion about. If you have noticed a problem then contact Toluna, do not complain here about it, what do you think we can do about it? Moan to the people who run the site, not the members. Make sure you copy your opinion before posting, and if you get an error make sure that it hasn’t gone through before reposting.
cynthia1111, copying your opinion is very simple. When you have typed your opinion, select all of it (either by dragging your mouse over it, or right click and "Select All"), then right click on it and click "Copy" from the list. Once you've done that, you can submit your opinion, and if your post happens to not go through, right click again on the typing area, and click "Paste". What you had copied before should come up now, and there should be no need to re-type your opinion. To keep your opinion safe, after copying your opinion, you can paste it onto another screen, such as "notepad" or "word", first, as if you accidently copy anything else after copying your opinion the first time, you will not be able to submit it again and your opinion will be lost. That's if it does not go through on Toluna, the first time. ----- I haven't created opinions much these days, so haven't had the problem, but when replying I still get the error sometimes, although the opinion is posted. I don't find it a problem when I do get the error, as I always type what I am posting on another screen (wordcount). I then copy it from there and paste onto Toluna.
Yes I have had the blue screen to, it is annoying but do not despare there is hope. The solution is to get a large glass make sure that it is empty and clean put some ice in it then fill with vodka, brandy or spirit of choice then get legless it makes it all beter.
