Owners are to blame if pets behave badly, just as parents to blame for naughty children ( though it is almost impossible to stop cats going in other people's gardens, apart from keeping them indoors, which is cruel if you have a cat that needs the stimulation of roaming his neighbourhood.)I understand people having more than on epet, though _ the pets are companions for each other when no one is home. What really annoys me is the people who think it ok to allow a dog to behave in your home the way it does in theirs.I wasa t a friend's the other day,and another visitor had brought a dog,who was sitting up on the couch crunching biscuits and leaving drool and crumbs all over my freind's sofa! My friend should have asked her to put the dog on the floor, but i guess some people find it hard, and the owner shouldnt have put my friend in to an awkward situation. One time my friend was visiting with her enormous dog, and she decided to snatch my slipper( gorgeous new ones, aN Xmas pressie) and allowed her dog to have a game with it! I was furious and told her so, as my slipper was quickly covered in slobber!!
I think that it's not the pets fault..its the owners who don't clean up after them and let the run wild (like alot of kids we all see about! ha) the poor pets suffer for the owners faults...
I think they are both cute and a nuisance. Our neighbour lets their dog roam free around the grounds and it is a cute dog that is friendly to the residents - although it has nipped at the mailman - but its also a darned nuisance as it fouls and they don't clean it up and the body corp finds it to much effort to get involved also it is in real danger as people whip down our driveway and with it being unsupervised it could get hit or cause a problem. Just waiting for it to go out the gate and get on the main road which is very busy. The owners love it when they want to and ignore it the rest of the time.
if you let them. My family has 2 of the buggers. One's alright. She has boobs (which is pretty unusual, but vets checked and said were fine) and she's a real scaredy cat but ok. The other one Spike we had since he was a few days old (my sister worked in a vets) and she spoilt him rotten. He's a horrible little shit. I hate him. I wouldn't be mean to him but I wouldn't go out of my way for him either. we have 3 dogs too. a black German Shepard bitch, what looks like a cross between a doberman and a greyhound (he's the biggest wuss on the planet and we reckon he's gay) and a cross between a colly, a fox and a fraggle. She's mental but cool. they only poo in our garden. We try not to take them out for at least an hour after their dinner for this reason also. and we take bags with us just in case. They're pretty well behaved and if they aren't they get punished (sent to bed while the others remain out) straight after they've been bold. it's defo up to the owners to take resposiblity. My sister had problems with woman and Jack russell in local park. Stupid people should not be allowed have pets. Simple as.
I am not sure that it is the animals that are to blame for being a problem. Like with badlt behaved kids I think the owners are more to blame. I live near a field and the number of dog owners who let their dogs foul peoples gardens on the way to the field is incredible. We have 2 neighbours that have cats. 1 has 2 the other has 7. All these cats use all the gardens near to their homes as a toilet. Why does anyone need more than 1 cat. Especially as these cats are not used for breeding. Until 18 months ago we have always had either a cat or a dog but we have made sure that they do not foul other peoples gardens or bark at any noise they hear. Our cat was taught to use a litter tray at all times and the dog was kept on a lead when outside our garden.
I seem to have little to no problems with my friends’ or family’s pets. I do however come across some pets that are not always well behaved. But I do not believe that you should take your frustration out on the pets. The real people at fault are the owners. I do agree that the pets do their business in places that are not the best but surely the owners should then pick up the mess. Or not let pets do it there. So I have nothing against other pets.
"It does help if you plant certain kinds of plants like cat nip or mint as cats hate the smell of these". I think you'll find that the opposite is true! You have cats from all around rolling around in your catnep. Fortunately I have no problems with my neighbours pets.
I do find that some of other peoples pets can be a nuisance but mainly if they are not properly looked after by their owners, this probably goes for dogs instead of cats because dogs should not be left to roam. I have an awful lot of cat owners living round me and I have tried allsorts of different types of things to keep them out of my garden. It does help if you plant certain kinds of plants like cat nip or mint as cats hate the smell of these, I also buy pepper from petshops and spread this around the garden along with orange and lemon peel, which cats also seem to hate ,one good trick is to leave bottles of water in clear plastic around your garden this frightens cats as all they can see is a distorted face staring back at them.
