I've applied for a new job and part of the job is to visit people in their homes all over the West Midlands. If I get the job I'm thinking of buying a satellite navigation system. I've never had one before and wondered what experiences people have had with sat navs - whether they're a help, easy to use, or what brand you would recommend?

yes, didnt buy it, used it once, didnt get lost... works exactly as they should do... nothing else to say thanks
We have got a sat nav but I do not think that you can always rely on them.For example a few weeks ago the sat nav guided us down the high street in a small town on market day.It was very dangerous trying to get through the people doing their shopping and we could easily have had an accident.On our way back home we ignored what the sat nav said and just went round the ring road around the town instead.
no but would love one, i always get lost lol there alot cheaper these days though so more people can afford them
i use one for work, it comes with the van but dont have a personal one but am thibkibg of getting one in the near future
no I can read a map and road signs why would I need some irritating voice spoiling my short cuts
My boyfriend has one, yes. It seems to like taking us down narrow, single tracked dirt roads, stuck out in the middle of nowhere!
No waste of time and money nothing wrong with a good old map would chose that over SAT NAV any day. Least they dont take you down died ends!!
yep, it lives in the boot until i need it and then it comes out onto the dashboard, lucky toy
Who doesn't have a sat nav in the 21st century? I bought one for work, but couldn't live without one
Yes, but it hardly ever gets used. No substitute for a decent map and a bit of forward planning.
