It may have helped the rest of us if you stated tre Country you live in. Here in the UK the voting age is already 18 and has been since 1969/70. It led to the situation (for me) in 1977/8 where I was legally married, with a child, 'serving my Country' in Northern Ireland (Royal Navy), but not being of voting age I was not allowed to participate in the elections to elect (or not!) the Government that was willing to send me to my possible death!
For once I have to agree with magnius but I do wish that he could try a little diplomacy at times. While it is everyones right to express an opinion, politness if one doesn't agree with another persons is surely no great hardship.
The voting age in the UK is 18, the voting age in the USA the voting age is 18, in Australia its 18, in NZ its 18. The voting age across most of the world is 18, I understand that Fiji is still 21 but that they are currently considering lowering it to 18 and your website address would indicate that is where you are living. I think it should be lowered to 18 in line with most other countries and for the reasons that most of the other countries the age. At 18 a person is legally considered an adult and can sign a contract without parental consent, they can apply for government support and can legally live away from home so if they have those legal rights should they also not have to right to vote for the government.
