You would have to start by applying to the US embassy for a green card. No green card no work! We no official work. You can buy a house or rent as quite a lot of Americans do easy enough. Its the green card that enables you to stay there and to work. Try a website on emmigrating to USA. That should give you all the info you need.
Moving to the USA isn't going to be a simple type thing to do.. I'm from the Usa and live here now.. as one person said a SS card is vital to have to set up accounts and to even to get a job. I know several who tried to move there from here, and after 6 months they are still going through red tape. There are loads of places you can go to find jobs, and homes you can search online newspapers for the area you want to move to and get an idea of what jobs and homes are available .. You can also go to the unemployment office or sign up with temp agencies but it would be wise to have a job that wants you to move over before you bite the bullet to much. Loads of Americans are without jobs so do your homework... i.e. take up all the suggestions made to you.
You need a Visa and a green card if you intend working there, but if you buy a business the green card become less of problem. Don't think that living i the USA is any easier than living any where else it isn't. No Social Sercurity! No National Health Service! Well The climate might be better but don't forget the Tornadoes and Hurricanes. I wish you all the best Marty
