A petrol near us put his petrol up to 199.9 this week,i presume to cash in on the misery of the local people, some people have boycotted him already and ,after having his picture and garage in the local paper he has put it back down but apparantly he is applying for persmission to knock down the garage and build some flats,is it a last chance saloon to get further money out of the local people,i have also noticed from a web site that a shell garage around us it selling it at 114.9 so it can be done, that is in aTrago Mills. A good website to check the local prices is the above website, you can choose to have emails from them, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and within a certain mile radius to what you choose, leaded or unleaded. They are very good and it is worth knowing who is cheaper,i can check say if i am going up to any town and check before i go what the petrol prices are I'ts woth checking out as in the long run it can save you £'s,i have just checked up in Scotland so it is a very smart idea. Hope it helps some, especially if you travel a lot
simple fact of economics where the market force dictates if the product is high in demand but low in supply then price goes up to try to keep a balance (i think, my memory of economics is in the dim and distant past)
in my area today the garages were charging 1.20, one shell garage were out of petrol, only had diesel. It obviously depends on what area you live, and they are charging what they think they can get. I think there should be some level fixed on what they can charge. It seems very unfair that it differs from area to area. There is obviously some exploitation going on, in that if you need petrol you will have to pay what they are charging. Its making filling up the car, for necessary journeys so expensive and on top of the hikes in food prices and energy bills, life is getting hard to know where we can make economies. some of us like my husband who has to start work at before 6am has to use the car, as there is no public transport.
Oil, like other fossil fuels, is a finite resource. What'll happen when it runs out? We'll be gone, but our children and granchildren will be dealing with it. Let's hope that a alternative fuel is developed in time, and one that solves more problems than it causes. Meanwhile spare a thought for the future when you're all ranting about your need for cheap and plentiful petrol.
about time the rip off finished. There is more oil beig produced so how come the price increases. It would be helpful if the government reduced the duty so helping to decrease the high cost of living
