Course I know who he is! The absolute genius, father of Surrealism! As I am a great fan of art, especially Surrealism, he comes as an absolute godsend. This work is so meaningful, ambiguious sometimes, true but its how to make art 'clever'- not all this Tracy Emin's bed rubbish. Not is his work exquisitely executed but the themes are relevant to his contempary time and perhaps, it can be argued, relevant in a timeless sense. Pain, suffering, maybe some of the more universal and timeless themes, drugs even. Take the piece 'the hallucinagenic toreador'. Complex and fascinating, commenting on love, loss, nationality/identity, illusion, art and culture, national treasures, and so much more...
salvador dali =] aah without him where would the world of art be now i wonder? others believe he is the father of surrealism but i beg to differ..Gustav Klimt whom lived way before him is..for his time his work was surreal and not heard of and i believe he is the father of surrealism although less known..however salvador dali is still one of a kind..you probably walk past signs posters and such on t.v in cartoons and film which have used his works in them.many artists have also been inspired by him such as H.R.Giger (creator of Alien for all those who do not know amd even that is not his best work by far) ...without mr.Dali the art world would not be how it ois now he has hugely influenced the world as it is now wether you can appreciate or aknowledge it or even realise it the world wouldnt be the same if he hadnt been there..i love his art though he did use his wife in his work too much for my personal taste but shows his love and devotion to her also which is also a trait that makes him so utterly likeable too.
Salvidor Dali, a Spanish artist concerned with surrealism. His art work is well known for its bizarre characteristics. I think the work or art that come to mind as soon as I hear or see his name is the Persistence of Memories - it has a bare landscape and four time pieces that seem to have melted. I like this piece of art as memory is a bit like that, they last as the time pieces have done but they may not be as clear as they were once. I admire Dali for altering the view of what art is. Some of his art is a bit too out there for me!
I went to a Dali exhibition in paris it was great, he was totally mad as a hatter and very imiganative and this comes out in the work he does and his personality
Yes. he was a surrealist artist. This was very contraversial at the time he worked. Many of his images e.g. the melting watch are extremely well known.
slavador dali was a painter involved in the surrealism movement. at first i found his work pointless and pretenious . but then i changed my mind i saw some of his work and i was very impressed with his work and find the spotanitety in it really interesting and intriguing. not one of my favourites but he definately is or was a great talent that shouldnt be forgotten
