When I first joined Toluna, it was interesting and fun for a short while. I thought I'd get something out of the experience. What I really wanted was a tangible benefit, something to make the experience worthwhile. Within about 2 months I managed to get 30,000 points - enough points for a voucher. It felt like hard work just writing opinions and answering surveys and doing sponsored polls. I could have coped with that process for a few more months, if the prize at the end of it was a few more vouchers. However, now, the rules have undergone some changes. And not for the better. I think the rewards are a very limited range and you have to amass far too many points to get any benefit. Overall, I don't think it's a fair system. It would be better to increase the number of points awarded for creating/giving opinions and surveys or reduce the number of points needed to obtain a reward. What do you think? Are you in it for the points? Do you think it's worth it?
I' ve been a member for many many years and I must say I'm quite happy. After all its only a bit of fun isn't it. Anyone who takes this seriously for earning proper dosh shouldn't be here and go out and get a job. Its only a bit of interactivity at the end of the day and its nice when you get enough to earn a couple of vouchers and treat yourself now and again. If you're not happy.... then don't do it. Simple. :)
I have been a member for a couple of years and always did the surveys and polls. By chance I came across the opinion sites and have had a lot of fun gabbing about anything and everything. Im not really in it for the points but for the fun aspect of being a 'know-it-all". I dont think its a site to be serious or to post cerebrally challenging questions. The trivia is much more fun for most of us. Those who disapprove of this usually mark our answers as "Not useful".
I personally don't have a problem with the current reward limits, yes it will take me longer to get my 60,000 than it did to get 30,000 but then again I didn't spend my £5 voucher as waited to get another one so it all comes out in the wash for me. As Magnius says the vouchers aren't free Toluna as a company has to pay for them and that's why they aren't that easy to get, if they were the company would go under as none of us as members pays anything for our membership so they have to rely on advertisers and sponsors etc. I think its worth the effort and enjoy my time on here and really look forward to getting my vouchers.
You have to bear in mind that giving out vouchers costs Toluna money, so increasing points for opinions or polls only serves to cost Toluna even more money and they would soon go bankrupt. You should be grateful for what you do get and just enjoy the experience and savour the awards when they come. Although you do now have to amass 60,000 points for a voucher instead of the old 30,000…the voucher value has doubled so you are not losing out you just have a longer wait, no too much hassle really and you get to enjoy a bigger reward when it does roll around.
