wanted to know what things really bug you some of the things that bug me is being next in line to be served but having to wait about 15min at the person at the till decides to have a long chat with the customer despite the fact they have finished serving them and when people say they will call you at certain time and still havnt called hours later or when you wait in for someone and they dont turn up
I definately would I have had some therapy after having a stroke, I had Bobath therapy which is really a concept and that is you get assessed then they set what you are physically are capable of then give you support in acheiving your goal, usually by intense physiotherapy and the one that has helped me a great deal is Bowen therapy which has really worked for me so I would love to be part of a trial because traditonal medicine can be complemented by alternative therapy. Some NHS trusts have already being using alternative therapy for some time now with positive results.
Do you know anyone who has said something strange or funny that they are reminded of many years later.
When I was in slow labour over seventeen years ago the dustbin lorry came to empty my bin, it tipped it up and it didn't come out. I phoned the council and was told I would be sent another one. I went to hospital and two days later gave birth. As we did not have any access to mobile phones and my huband had already set off for visiting he didn't know I had had our third daughter. He walked down the ward looked at me and said , not" how are you", "do I have a son or daughter", "is the baby alright", but " we still haven't got a dustbin." His daughter reminds him of this quite regularly. When I posted this last year I only got 5 replies, I was wondering if I will get more now I am more active on this site. Please feel free to type anything strange or funny.
I am spending the rest of the day trying to sort out the kitchen and starting to decorate after a burst pipe damaged the decor in the kitchen. Are you in the process of doing or planning a DIY project?
...the first week of my training course was a lot of fun and looks promising. We just did an induction, an aptitude test (numeracy and literacy) and outlined the basics of what help is available for getting back into work. On the first day only three people out of eight turned up, and only one of the absent people bothered to ring in and explain their absence. This is not only a bit rude, but confusing. This is a voluntary course, no one is coerced to attend, so why sign up but not turn up?
Anyhoo, we now have five people on the course and they are all very nice. We have broadened our connections and I signed up with Working Links as well, as they offer funding as well as advice for job seekers. It all helps. I am feeling very optimistic about this. Thanks to everyone who has wished me luck. You all rock!
I had a gem of one from my bloke whilst I was shouting at the creases in the ironing. He said, "Well, just do one shirt at a time." I am not sure how he thought this was helpful!
I've also heard that when you are looking for something, it's usually in the last place you look, funny that!
And when I have lost something, it's, "where was the last place you remember putting it?" If I'd remembered that I wouldn't be looking for it!
What gems of useless advice have you been given over the years?
