I am somewhat annoyed, as a visitor to this wonderful little market town, that British Muslims are planning to march here as a protest about their dead in Afghanistan.

Have these people no concern for the feelings of others? The people who turn out in Wootton Bassett are not making political statements, they are just honouring their dead. But typical of this branch of Islam, all they think of is how they are being dishonoured.

Marches of this type, however, need the permission of the police. I hope they have the courage and snse to oppose it, and to arrest anyone that does try. They will not, of course, have the same powers that would be used by their own "countrymen". As has been seen recently, anyone who marches or complains against these regimes faces the full might of government.

While I was writing an opinion for a topic about what has stood out for me in 2009 I thought of various things but the one thing that stood out for me the most were the good people who lined the streets of Wooton Bassett every time our brave soldiers are repatriated. As one person said ' we cannot allow these brave soldiers to come home to nobody'! It brings a tear to my eye every time I see this sight and I for one would like to say a huge thank you to these kind people. God bless you!!!

These children many with such severe disabilities they could not show the pictures on tv although I wish they had to show the people the true cost of war. All for the sake of oil. What a price to pay.
