I went to see "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" last night and the girl who gave us the tickets asked us if we knew it was in Swedish with English subtitles as apparently this was putting quite a few people off.

Do you go out of your way to avoid foreign language films? You're missing out on such amazing titles as Amelie, Let The Right One In, The Orphanage....I could go on! Are you like me and looking for good cinema regardless of the language?

Both these films are on my favourite top ten books list and when I first heard they were going to made into movies I couldn't wait to go and see them. But I have had second thoughts recently as I was worried that they wouldn't live up to the books - what did you think of them?

I am in the US at the moment and just went to see "Hachi: A dog's tale" which is just out in the cinema in the UK too. Richard Gere and Joan Allen are a happily married middle aged couple who take in a foundling puppy. If you liked "Greyfriars Bobby" you will love this one too. It is based on a true story of events in Japan in the 1920s and 1930s but set in more modern times. Just as a word of warning even my heart-of-stone other half needed the tissues!
