Not too many years ago, when petrol prices were approaching £1 per litre for the first time, therer were all sorts of protests. I found it surprising that the same didn't happen when the prices at the pumps recently spiralled - increasing 30% in what seemed like a few days.

Oil prices have been dropping and some places have reduced price per litre by 4-5 pence. However, as there weren't protests when the prices went up, I don't feel that there is any incentive for the petrol companies to make any more reductions even if oild prices continue to drop - why should they when they can make more profits for their shareholders.

What do the rest of you think? Are we likely to see prices going down any further or not?

I have recently joined a few survey sites in the hope of making a bit of extra cash. I have had a few payments but have not made more than £30 in the past month despite daily survey efforts. Although it is possible to make some extra money, it takes a lot of spare time and patience to fill out surveys - and I find it very annoying to spend ten minutes answering questions only to be told I don't qualify and won't get paid for my time. Certainly never going to make me a millionaire, but ok for a bit of extra spending money if you have the time to spend online.

I'm a member of about 10 different survey sites. What amazes me is the amount some sites exepect to get away with - paying 10p for a 40 minute survey. Having said that, the secret is to get onto the better sites. In total I made £45 last month for about 1 hour's work a day. Whilst I'll never make my fortune this way, I quite enjoy doing it (until I get one of those surveys where you have to watch the same tv advert about a million times). Pinecone Research is the best one to sign up with - that is if you can find one of there banner's looking for people!
