does anyone else feel out done by, by going to work and earning a honest living when people who scrounge of the system seem to be better off? Myself and my partner have always worked ever since we both left school have been fortunate enough to have always been in work and earnt our own money, we have our own house (with mortgage) and both have a car each, we have two children growing up fast, but we are sick and tired of slugging our guts out just to keep a roof over our heads feed our selves and pay all the bills with nothing left over to enjoy ourselves, Two friends of ours who live up the road dont work yet go on holiday 3 times a year all from their social money, were lucky if we get 1 holiday in the uk a year on our money after paying out the mortgage and bills, it just dosent seem fair. Very often we have thought of giving up work and also sponging of the state, Why go to work and be worse off, unfortunatley we are both to proud to do that it just isnt fair. It should be made harder for people to be able to claim money off the people who work for a living.

Completely understand, we have recently had to get rid of our car as we can't afford it. My husband doesn't work much due to health reasons but I work full time and we claim no benefits or assistance, our neighbours don't work and have a car and drive around all the time including 2 minutes down the road to get milk and that does annoy me that I am basically paying for their car with my taxes when I can't afford one myself. I am not saying all those on benefits shouldn't have cars so don't get defensive people but it is very hard when you work full time and can't afford a car but someone who doesn't work gets one.
