I think that many of today's guitarists are brilliant! Yet they're often overshadowed by the giants of yesteryear. I think that if we acknowledge that today's guitarists have learnt from the genius' of the previous generations then we're giving credit to them all!
My musical preference is metal and some of the bands incorporate classical instruments with modern ones and the sounds are often spectacular, yet the bands are usually only heard of by the hard core fans. It's a shame!
