i care for my father who lives just round the corner for me. I cared for both my mum and dad for quite a few years and then just under 2 years ago my mum died leaving dad on is own. MY hustband is a few years older than me and wants to retire. As we live in a high value housing area we could easily move to a cheaper area and make enough money on the sale for him to retire, but i am torn between leaving my dad and putting my husband first. My children are grown up and do not need us any more, and the only thing keeping us is look after dad. I really do not know what to do and would appreciate other people input

Wish I knew the answer to this one. I have a similar problem but mine is looking after my mother in law. She live 12 miles away and while she has anther son and daughter in law who actually live 3 miles away I am the one with the responsibility. We have not had a holiday for 4 years because they will not keep an eye on her for us while we are away. What really bugs me is that she expects it of me. My own parents died young so I didn't have this problem with them. When my mother and father in law were my age (56) they were away every weekend in their caravan. If I needed help they were never around. It really is a matter of conscience at the end of the day. I look forward to reading other peoples points of view. Good Luck.

idoes anyone feel like me, have brought up two children, who have been taught to be independant, and have watched them grow with great pride, and then comes the day they leave home, confident and a credit to you, and you just feel like sitting down and have a good cry.
Both my children went to university, my son has just completed 4 years, when i have been a the end of the phone line and felt included in his life. He has now got a job and is moving away to live with his girlfriend, and i do not not why i feel so sad. My daughter is just going into her last year of university, but prefers to stay in her digs with her boyfriend.
Logic tells me i have done a good job with them, as they really are both responsible and good people, but i just feel so sad. As i said no logic, does anyone else feel like this, would appreciate your opinions.

i have seen load of opinions lately about how you gain points on toluna. Yes you can earn points, but lets face it they are pretty slow coming. What i think is unique and special about toluna, is that it gives a chance for people to ask questions about what is worrying them, or what is interesting to them, and get opinions back from complete strangers. We all know how sometimes we wonder what other people think about what we are doing or what we are interested in, and although we can ask friends and family, its sometimes nice to just remain anonymous and see what other people think, thats what i think is unique with toluna, its not all about getting points and rewards, because if it was i think we would all leave, i am still miles away from my first £5 reward, but i enjoy the site, and think friends can be made, even if we never meet.

Yep, I certainly don't do it to get rich as would be living on the street corner. I do really enjoy though getting to read people's opinions, the odd squabble that causes some reactions and being able to add my two pence worth. You feel like you get to know people on here, although would probably be totally shocked if you actually saw them in real life as imagine we all build up an image in our minds that is probably totally wrong of what everyone looks like. Must say though was a nice surprise to see some survey points finally come through I had been waiting on.
