I just wanted to ask if anyone has any hints for me if they have been through this as my teen has just hit puberty with a bang and has a real problem dealing with his temper.
He does not lose it often (thank the heavens) but when he does all reasoning with him goes out the window and he is literally his own worst enemy at that time.
He says hurtful things to me which he is later sorry for but I really want him to realise that not everyone is going to have the patience with him that I do and that he needs to try and curb it in some way and perhaps even learn his trigger points.
All fancy talk I know but not something that a 13 year old who is in a mood wants to listen to ;-)
He has only had three outbursts so far!!! But the latest was yesterday when he was tired from having a sleepover with a mate. He said something which I considered wrong to his sister, I picked him up on it and all hell broke loose. I cleared his room, he has apologised this morning and I told him the apology was accepted but he needed to write a letter of apology to his father and his grandmother who was in the house when he had his tantrum.
So he is doing it as I type and is upstairs with a pen and paper ;-)
God only knows what he is going to come down with but at least he is doing it... it is a start.
So please if anyone has any hints on how to deal with teenage boys... it would be appreciated ;-)

Thanks Inzil xxxx

happy 20th opinion :-)

It's great that he is writing letters of apology, you really have done a good thing there! I don't know how I'll cope when Carson gets older and has tantrums but I guess i'll feel the same as you, upset.

Good luck for future outbursts! xx

Apparently EBay has just removed from their site advertisements from the US advertising DIY Botox kits!
There was also found, not on Ebay another site since closed down, kits offering Melanotan complete with syringes and instructions as to how to use the injections in the stomach!
Whilst Botox can be used it is supposed to be used by a professional.. It is a poison after all and as for Melanotan, this is not even licensed in the UK over fears of its safety.
Has the internet become a place for cut-price beauty treatments.. even those which have serious potential side effects?
And would you use them or even take the risk?
I for one would never purchase any kind of medicine, injections or pills on the internet.. but it is becoming a massive business. But unless medicines are from a reputable company who is to say what is in them. Why are some people so daft as to play with their lives.. and all in the name of beauty?

Having just logged in this morning I was surprised to see the new Toluna blog entry on netiquette basically asking that we refrain from posting topics etc entirely in capitals. I for one agree with it but do understand that some people prefer to type in capitals as they see it better.
As for Toluna now advising that any topics put into the wrong categories or written entirely in said capitals are subject to deletion that is a bit harsh.
They also say that any topics written in another language are subject to deletion, well may be, that is a bit harsh too. We do have members from all the sites logging into our English one and adding opinions to our topics in their own language and if actually you translate some of them, they can be quite good.. Well I do say some of them ;-)
Have you read this netiquette blog entry and do you agree with it?
I suppose in a way it is confirmation that Toluna is actually taking note of what is happening on this small part of the site.

Hi Inzilbeth, I sometimes write a couple of words in capitals if I want to emphasize something, or I get a little excited about a topic. But I think that it being subject to deletiona is a little harsh. At the end of the day, surely it is better that people want to contribute to a subject in their own way, rather than not at all. Also, we must surely have members who have problems with their eyesight and typing in capitals may be better for them to use. So, for me, I dont feel it is bad to write in capitals, I just think its another way of typing their opinion.
