I am a law student and to be completely honest, I think there are far too many laws. One law is made and then another is made to cover the loop holes, and if a law has flaws they don't bother to get rid of it. But mainly I think that some of the laws we have are completely pointless and useless, considering people don't enforce them, and people just ignore them all together, it just annoys me that there are all these laws that you can be prosecuted for breaking, but everyone knows they're useless.

Yes, the law is a mess, but then can you imagine the work involved in tearing it up and starting again. And who would do that work? I fear it would be lawyers with little input from the people or their elected representatives.

Parliament has not got the time to streamline the law and repeal old ones. Instead, as you say, we keep patching it and hoping it will get by for a while more, and stretching old laws to cover situations they were not really intended to.

Another thought: the law is bound to be complex and messy and at times self-contradictory, because life is complex and messy and at times self-contradictory.

Oh, and good luck with your studies.

I have just logged on to find I have no points at all despite having nearly 30,000 days ago and my profile is now apparently only 1% completed, a drop from 86% also a matter of days ago.

So glad to see the glitches are well and truly on the way to being mended.

Excellent.

Hope everyone else is finding things as productive? Don't want anyone to feel left out, that would hint at favoritism.

;)

Yes, I think that GCSEs are extremely stressful for a large amount of teenagers, not just that, but sometimes the entire course can be too stressful, with coursework, and strict deadlines. I find exams immensely stressful. I have Neurocardiogenic Syncope, which means i faint in certain situations because my blood pressure drops, but I've fainted in a lot of my exams to date and I think there were only 2 of my GCSEs that i didn't faint in, but it doesn't help that I've taken all my courses and exams a year early. But yes a lot of teenagers do badly in exams because they are so stressful, so what exactly are the grades supposed to represent?
