Should religious jewelry be allowed in schools?

I think as long as it isnt inhibiting the child from learning or distracting those around them e.g. something that jangles or glitters its fine. Obviously things that can be used as weapons or have been used as one by unscrupulous pupils in the past should also be avoided (e.g a fist full of rings makes a punch much more unpleasant). I guess what I am trying to say is it depends on the individual and the circumstances in which they find themselves. A discreet cross or bangle or similiar presents very few problems and should be allowed. However, if these simple items of jewellery are allowed, non-religious pupils should also be able to wear simple jewellery along the same lines.
