At my school the cane was only used in execeptional circumstances and the boy would be warned 3 times to stop the behaviour before it as used,so it was hardly ever used sometimes the boy would somtimes be expelled if he carried on after the cane, strangly enough it kept us all in line and the kids had proper discipline. Listening to the radio today kids were canned at the age of 5 and some people really suffered , which meant the can was used for abuse rather than the last resort for a difficult child who would not listen to reason.I got the ruler across the knuckles when I was eight and I tell you something it stopped me tallking and made me behave myself,I was not going to that again ,did me no harm it just made me behave myself.

I know most of us are watching the cash a bit more than usual and I know I should be trying to save money on things like food. I like nice food and worry that the likes od Aldi and Lidl won't be as nice - is that the case or am I being silly?
i have recently started shopping at aldi because of the low prices they advertised on fruit and veg, and i have tosay i am really impressed. the quality of the fresh food is much better than my local asda and a hell of a lot cheaper. we now shop there for fresh meat as well and the range and value of cooked meat etc is really good. it is also worth a visit for things like olive oil, which is good quality and much cheaper than other supermarkets, and there range of 'best' products is very impressive, i see myself shopping there an aregular basis now and much more often. the staff are friendly and really quick on the checkout. the only drawback is that they dont have as big a rangeof products as the major chains but what they do have is really good.
