Anime(Japanation) is traditionally hand drawn, but computer assisted techniques have become quite common in recent years. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, and internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction. There's many different animes and the only ones i've seen so ar is OHSHC, love hina and haruhi suzumiya(which are all very good and funny).
I tried drawing anime(and sad to say i suck at it, but i'm getting better) and i'm getting anime movies.
I want to see others opinions on anime and wheter they love it or hate it(GASP). Personally, i love it(YAY) it rocks my socks =]

ghibli all the way! nothing comes close. looks like the law of diminishing returns may be coming into effect though.

I remember reading a little which ago about an artist who created some unbelievably beautiful paintings for a church, but whose private life was reprehensible. A little research produced the following information: Eric Gill, the sculptor, apparently committed incest and bestiality, and further back in history Caravaggio was a murderer and Wagner an anti-Semite. How do you reconcile the splendour of their work with the horror of their lives, especially when these works are of a religious nature or displayed in religious buildings?

yes, it does. I often struggle to separate the art from the artist (John Lennon hit his wife, neil Young was a Reganite etc..). But, as the art is an projection of the artist then it seems fair. What is interesting is that in the past we were obsessed with what the artist (actor, painter, musician) did in his/her private life. The thought of knowing more about an individual may provide greater insight into his/her work. However, this seems to have mutated into the cult of celebrity where people are famous for doing nothing other than be chased about by photographers on a daily basis. Sad really, but hopefully this will allow the real artists to get on with what they do best.

I have to ask.. do u find this art? or rubbish? I personally love tracey emin and she is one of my biggest inspirational artists!

what is art? anything really. If there's an idea (concept) behind it then yes, it's art. People often confuse art with "pretty to look at". Art is more about ideas - if it makes you think then it's done its job.
