Have you ever discovered your rights and explored your powers of law and taken on the authorities over something. Have you ever started a group of petitioners and made an impact ?

Petitions don't make that much difference, as the authorities only have to look at them once. In the centre my home village they wanted to build a huge block of flats with six shops underneath and four "spires" of flats on top. Everyone I spoke to though it was too big and a huge disruption to the man road while they would be building it. We all wrote letters to the planning committee of the local council. They admitted that they had recieved hundreds of letters opposing the new flats and only one letter supporting it. Despite all this they granted permission to build. Five years later they are built. The building disrupted traffic (which is nose to nose going to Manchester every morning anyway) terribly meaning that locals couldn't get anywhere until after 11am without sitting in queues. Out of the hundred and twenty flats built over seventy have been reposessed and are now empty. No local businesses can afford the £60,000 a year for the retail units. The village has been left feeling that their council is only concerned for the money they would potentially make in council tax and not the good of the area, we all felt a shopping centre or market would've been more beneficial to the area. The authorities always win.

We have strict meal times but that is due to necessity with hubby being diabetic, can't afford to have him getting distracted and not eating and then getting low blood sugar. Once you get used to it it is really good as it means you don't accidentally skip meals.

I like the routine of set meal times as otherwise if I am busy I can tend to skip main meals and then peck at unhealthy snacks so set meals make me plan my food and be better organised.

How far would you drive to save 1p or 2p on a litre of fuel?
Will you travel across town to save 2p a litre on fuel, or do you not bother about the 50p or so and do for convenience?

I wouldn't because it costs you more in petrol than what you save often, the same as people who drive around and spend £5 in petrol to save £4 off their supermarket bill by buying all the items on offer.

I would rather just shop locally and not drive around looking for the best price or spending 30 minutes to get to another station with a lower price. You have to consider the cost your time in getting to the other cheaper supplier and I just don't think its worth it for 1 or 2p per litre.
