Having tried unsuccessfull for the last hour trying to reply to an opinion for this recipe, I thought I would try posting it as an opinion! Being ex-RN I make mine with "Nelson's Blood", but you can use Whiskey or Brandy if you prefer. Boil some water; Put 1 teaspoon of brown sugar into a suitable glass/mug/cup; Pour over a good measure of your chosen spirit (I use 50-100ml!); Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey; Add the juice from half a lemon; Then 2 slices of fresh lemon; Pour in the boiled water, stirring continuously; Taste and adjust sweetening (I sometimes add more honey, depending how sharp the lemon is). Drink whilst hot. Relax. Make another, repeat! WARNING - if using a glass, pour the water over the spoon and leave the teaspoon in the glass to absorb the heat. Another remedy I use at the onset of flu-like symptoms - equal (large) measures of Port & Brandy! 3 or 5 through the evening and ш can sleep soundly as I 'sweat' the germs out!
