I couldn’t believe the story a friend forward to me today. It was the sad story of a poor woman who asked crematorium officials for an extra ten minutes to say goodbye to her five week old child that was being cremated. She sat weeping by the coffin for an extra ten minutes telling her baby how much they all loved him and not to be scared. She was then fined £8.60 a minute for the privilege a total of £86 the council has now refunded the charge; because of "extenuating circumstances" is it just me who found this story unbelievable. I understand that time tables have to be kept to but surely no one could begrudge this mother an extra ten minutes with her dead child. I couldn’t for a second imagine a grieving family fining the undertakers if they were ten minutes late for the funeral. What do you think?

There is no excuse for anyone to be charged at all for saying goodbye to a loved one. The stress and heartache you go through i enough for anyone to have to bear, but then to be charged as well is unbelievable and should not happen. The people/firm that made the charge should be ashamed.

Here in Lancashire, the North West where I live the weather is awful it has been raining continually since I got up this morning and is still doing it. I do not think it is going to pick up at all today as it is very dull and overcast. I can not believe how the weather can change so much from one day to the next. Yesterday it was very sunny here and quite hot. I have had my littlle grandaughter here since last night and promised her we would go in the garden today , as yet we have notr been able to do so.

It is cloudy but dry in Norwich, although it looks like it might rain soon.

Mine had to be Geography. I honestly think it had more to do with not liking the teacher as the actual subject because to this day I can rhyme off all the capital cities and their currencies. Our Geography teacher was a real battle axe called Mrs Wall who absolutely hated me and she used to show it. I was picked out all the time and made to recite what we had learnt and woe betide me if I made a mistake because she would deliberately belittle me in front of all the class. I was so glad when I could give it up.

Mine was Maths, I hate it. What is the point of algebra anyway?
