I have to admit i don't always buy a film as soon as it's released on dvd because i do think £13 (average) is a lot when you don't know if your going to even like it but at the same time i do like knowing that a dvd i have purchased is mine to watch when i want but I heard on tv this morning Martin Lewis of 'it pays to watch' and money saving ideas fame saying that unless you were to watch a new dvd 5 times or more it was better value to rent the film.
I had never considered renting from this point of view before but am now thinking i should consider it as the majority of films i own i have probably only been watched the once and a few others 3 times max.

What is the reason why there are so many single mothers in GB?

The majority of the time it's not through choice that people become single parents and i really hate it when people are judged just because of their situation.
It is automatically asumed a lot of the time when someone hears the words 'single mother' that your talking about a young girl whos not used protection and has just been stupid to get themselves pregnant and i really think people need to change their assumptions. Yes there are young girls who haven't been sencible and find themselves being single mothers i'm not denying that GB has a very bad teenage pregnancy rate either but that doesn't mean all single parents are from that background.
A partners death can be the cause or an unavoidable breakdown of a relationship so next time you hear the phrase 'single parent' try not to make an assumption.
