I have two children with only a twelve month age gap. It wasn’t planned but you go with it. Sometimes I think it is the greatest thing as they play so well but other times it is such hard work.
I have four children, my eldest is my daughter who is 13yrs, then my boys are 7years,6years and 2 1/2 yrs. My daughter was a spoilt only child and really resented my 1st son when he came along and she still dislikes him immensley, my middle two boys with 18mths between them fight contiously but are rock solid together if someone else tries to be nasty to either one, my 7yr old gets fed up with my 6yr trying to copy everything he does, I do hope thing will improve when the get older...they all adore my 2 1/2 year old, I think this is because he has his own toys and friends and isn't very interested in theres. I don't think there is an ideal age gap but if I was to start all over again with the knowledge I have now I would say approx 3years, this was the eldest doesn't get to settled into being an only child (as my daughter did) but there is enough of a gap for them to have there own interests...also I think a 3year gap leaves enough room for them to grow as friends later on.
