is this time of year again spring is here and winter has gone(well i thought it had),time to start thinking of cutting the lawn and weeding the flower beds and start planting some plants,i personally done mind doing the gardening especially when its a nice sunny day me and my partner and sometomes the kids ger right stuck in to it,we are in a way lucky enough to have the oppertunity to do gardening because a lot of people dont have one,for those who have gardens do you enjoy gardening?

do you have roses in your garden?,we have roses in our garden and they do look really nice when they are in bloom,i just wanted to ask any of you gardeners some advice,i heard through the grapevine that if you have had roses planted in your garden it takes out all the nuitriants out of the soil and it is very hard for any other plant to grow because all the goodness has been took out of the soil through the roses,is this true?,ive tryed putting plants near roses and they dont seem to thrive like they should even with plant food ie miracle grow!,i look forward to your answers regards dicka 42!

yes i grow shrub and climbing roses through my hedge ,up a trellis and through trees. i grow numerous companion plants with them, hardy geraniums are a safe bet. i have found that the trick is with roses is to treat them as any other plant i grow lots of different plants with them and i think they look great.
